About Leyden Eagles Hockey
Welcome to Leyden Eagles Hockey! Our program is made up of players from East & West Leyden, Elmwood Park, Niles North, Niles West, Northridge Prep (new!) and Ridgewood High Schools. A player must attend one of those schools or live in one of the school districts to be eligible to play on a Leyden Eagles Hockey team. In addition, previous hockey experience is required to participate. Current players have played on the Franklin Park Panthers, Chicago Blues, Chicago Bulldogs, Niles Rangers, Northwest Chargers, and Mammoth to name a few. The program's home/primary rink is the Franklin Park Ice Arena although some skates were held at the Rosemont Ice Arena for the spring 2026 season. The program is a member of the Illinois High School Hockey League - North-Central Division with the Varsity team playing in the Varsity Gold level during the 25-26 fall / winter season. Players are required to have a current USA hockey membership prior to registering with Leyden Eagles Hockey Club.
2026 - 2027 Fall / Winter Season
The 2026 - 2027 fall/winter season will run from approximately September 1 to late February or early March. The program had a Varsity and JV team for spring 2026 and plans to roster two teams this fall if the required number of players register for the fall/winter season.
One note: the uniform kit is required for all players this season due to the program having to change uniform providers. The uniform kit will not be required for returning players in the 27/28 season. A fitting session with Jerry's Hockey will be held on June 18th at the Franklin Park Ice Arena. Those players not available for the June 18th date can go to a Jerry's Hockey location between June 19th and June 24th to get fitted. If a player is not registered and fitted prior to June 24th then their uniform kit will not be available to start the season. Additional fitting dates will be offered in the summer with the uniform kit being delivered in early October.
The 26/27 player fees will be the following and include games, practices, two hockey tournament entry fees, and a uniform kit (home & away jerseys, home & away socks, and pant shells).
Early Registration fees * (May 11, 2026 - June 17, 2026)
- Skaters: $4,750 + processing fees
- Goalies: $2,375 + processing fees
Regular Registration fees ** starting June 18, 2026
- Skaters: $5,300 + processing fees
- Goalies: $2,650 + processing fees
Required items for new players:
- Leyden Eagles Reversible Practice Jersey: $40
- Leyden Eagles Warm-up Jacket: $85
Other optional items available to purchase:
- Leyden Eagles Hockey Bag: Goalie $130 / Skater $125
- Leyden Eagles Warm-up Pant: $65
- Hockey Gloves will be offered for purchase prior to the start of the season
Payment plans are available to help spread the cost over the season. $500 deposit at registration plus payments on 10/1/26, 11/1/26, & 12/1/26. The $500 deposit is not refundable unless approved by the Leyden Eagles Hockey Board.

2026 Spring Season
Welcome to Leyden Eagles Spring Hockey Season! The spring season starts on March 18th and runs through end of May/early June. Our program is made up of players from East & West Leyden, Niles North, Niles West, Elmwood Park and Ridgewood High Schools. Eligible players for the spring season are current 8th graders through juniors who will live in one of the above school districts in the fall of 2026. In addition, previous hockey experience is required to participate.
Our home rink is the Franklin Park Ice Arena and the team(s) will play in the Illinois High School Hockey League - North-Central Division Spring League. The details for the spring league are still being finalized but the expectation is 6 to 8 spring games and 8 to 10 practices.
The 2026 Spring player fees are the following:
- Skaters: $750 + processing fees
- Goalies: $300 + processing fees
The above fees include all games, practices, a reversible practice jersey and hockey socks.
A payment plan is available for spring with 50% of the fee due at registration and the remaining balance due on 3/31.
